Natural Rejuvenation Center opens in Makati

This invitation posted on the wall of my FB friend Anna Llamado got me thinking: Should I go or should I go? Finally, here’s a chance to meet up with her again after five years or so. The last time I got together with Anna, she was my resource person for an article on the Edgar Cayce healing diet, a most fascinating subject. More on this topic in a future post.

No, it’s not the ‘Young Again’ line that piqued my curiosity as I have long conceded to the reality of irreversible aging. But without anyone telling me, I can feel that I’m toxic from head to toe, inside and out. Some orientation on detoxification would be helpful, so I marked the date.

The people behind Natural Rejuvenation Center Philippines (NRCP) couldn’t have chosen a better location to house their new clinic. The MEDICard Lifestyle Center is a modern haven for solutions to lifestyle-related ailments. Its bright and welcoming interior puts one immediately at ease. A true center for wellness, it has a fitness facility, dental and dermatology clinics, a café, and soon a yoga center (if it’s not yet there at the time of this post).

The presentation by Dr. Rosario “Chat” Austria, Medical Director of Natural Rejuvenation Center Philippines (NRCP) was an eye opener on the merits of alternative medicine. Inevitably, a comparison between this modality and that of Western or traditional medicine had to be raised. Traditional healthcare often focuses on symptoms, so one drawback is that it may address one type of disease at the expense of another. Alternative medicine, on the other hand, focuses on maintaining one’s health and keeping possible dysfunctions at bay.

So what does NRCP have to offer as ‘safe, effective and affordable ways of maintaining or regaining health and youthfulness’?

Their services include the following consultations:

  • Natural, preventive and integrative medicine
  • Internal medicine
  • Family medicine
  • Pediatrics
  • Anti-aging and rejuvenation therapy
  • Hormone balancing
  • Biomedical treatment of autism
  • Homeopathic treatment of diseases

and the following diagnoses:

  • LSA (Limbic System Assessment) screening, a system for identifying stressors of the body
  • Hair analysis
  • Hormone screening
  • Urine testing for heavy metals
  • Special tests for pediatric assessment

Their rejuvenation secret? A triad of anti-aging strategies consisting of detoxification (chelation, homeopathy, intravenous glutathione therapy, lympathic drainage massage therapy); nutritional therapy or body rehab using natural nutrients; and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT).

These are all untested territories for me, so feedback from those who have tried any of them will be much appreciated. What are their benefits and limitations, if any? Can they really help turn back our biological clocks?
